Great scenery getting to and at this lodge! Staff were friendly and courteous. Food in the restaurant was delicious, I recommend the pan fried walleye. The room was comfortable and easy access and had a great view of the lake. A really enjoyable stay.

While retracing our honeymoon of 50 years earlier; we stayed here for two nights (since the same lodging we had a half-century earlier was unavailable). The lodge is clean and well-maintained; with an engaging, Northwoods, rustic ambiance. Our check-in was efficient, and all the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating. Our lake-view room was comfortable, and offered a nice respite during our stay. (Even though the resort was hosting visiting baseball tournament teams, our section of the structure was relatively quiet). We enjoyed a really satisfying meal in their onsite restaurant, Evergreen (see separate TA review). And, we several times partook of their complimentary coffee option. Even though all lodging in the area has increased a bit over the last 5 decades (we paid $20 a nite in 1975, at a lodge that included some meals); if one is seeking a good place to stay while visiting Ely, this location is a solid option.

We had a wonderful time in Ely and enjoyed our stay at the Grand Ely Lodge. A pretty lively hotel even in the dead of winter, with a decent restaurant, friendly staff, and nice location close to town. The rooms was large and comfortable. Internet was fast and cable TV was extensive. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again during our next trip to Ely.

Nice stay in Ely
We had a wonderful time in Ely and enjoyed our stay at the Grand Ely Lodge. A pretty lively hotel even in the dead of winter, with a decent restaurant, friendly staff, and nice location close to town. The rooms was large and comfortable. Internet was fast and cable TV was extensive. Plenty of parking. Would stay here again during our next trip to Ely.

Not bad. It was a good sized room, the chairs weren't the most comfortable. My biggest complaint would be the plastic shower curtain and that the bathroom faucet is such that the water flow is only an inch or so from the sink wall, thus messaging hands together under the water involves smacking the sink side. The restaurant was pretty good and everyone was friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again
